What Marriage Records Can (and Can’t) Tell You About Your Ancestors
Marriage records are often one of the first documents genealogists search for and for good reason. A single record can confirm relationships, locations, and timelines
Immigration plays a significant role in the formation of Canada as a nation. Genealogy, or the study of family history, is an effective way to engage Canadians in better understanding our diverse backgrounds and common experiences.
The Maith Foundation is a not-for-profit Corporation whose purpose is to advance public education through the development of key resources, including books and website content, and providing related courses, seminars, and workshops with a focus on genealogy and immigration designed to help Canadians discover their rich heritage.
Our resources are designed to benefit immigrants and their descendants and the general public of Canada.
Structured and targeted events help to enrich the genealogical journey through close collaboration with participants, incorporating their own experiences and family history, developing conclusions based on these, and posing pertinent questions to drive further research.
The Maith Foundation produces books and related literature that allow Canadians to easily understand and engage with their heritage.
